Travel and learn about alternative dispute resolution, peacemaking, reconciliation, arts and culture in contemporary post genocide Rwanda with emphasis on peace making and conflict resolution.

Travel and learn about alternative dispute resolution, peacemaking, reconciliation, arts and culture in contemporary post genocide Rwanda with emphasis on peace making and conflict resolution.

Your experience will include:
- Personalized interactions with government, nongovernmental, education, faith, youth, community leaders in Kigali and Butare on peacebuilding, governance, legal system, post genocide reconciliation, etc.
- Visits to significant historical and cultural sites in Kigali, Butare, Ruhengeri, and Gisenyi/Lake Kivu.
- Experience indigenous –Abunzi -dispute resolution
- Observe mediation/arbitration at the Kigali International Arbitration Center.
- Experience school/youth peer mediation and peace clubs
- Exchanges with scholars and practitioners on peace education and restorative justice.
- Visit orphanage/shelter for Street children in Kayonza
- Visit and exchanges at the US embassy
- Exchanges with survivors of the genocide
- Dialogues with senior government leaders/scholars and NGOs on the Africa Peace Fellows—for peaceleaders
- African Drumming--African Art—African Music—Museums—Markets—Shopping—Gorilla trekking.
Cost: $3,850 pp/ Single occupancy.

Twelve nights’ hotel accommodation including daily breakfasts ~Welcome dinner in Kigali~ Entrance to two museums~ All local arrangements including transportation and local bus travels, plus tour guides~ Tips for bus driver & guide -- Program related coordination and administrative costs.

- R/T Transportation to Rwanda/Kigali, Visa, Passport, Required vaccinations, Travel Insurance, Other meals and personal expenses.

$500 deposit payable to Afripeace (by check or online) due asap to reserve your place.
$2,000 of balance due by December 1, 2017 (late fee $200)
$1,350 of balance due by May 1, 2018 (late fee $200)
Note: $150 discount on 100%(or $1,200) of balance for CAPCR & CLA members.
Cancellation policy: Refunds will be made less incurred costs + 25%. No refunds after June 1, 2018.
*A pre-trip learning session will be held in early December for all paid up participants in Sacramento (available by SKYPE)
*A pre-trip orientation /planning session will be held in June in Sacramento for all paid up participants (available by SKYPE).
